I'm not an object!.....I am a child.....I am a son.....I am a daughter.....I am a human being.....I AM A VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING!!!
I am NOT FOR SALE!
The Facts
Human trafficking is the action or practice of illegally transporting people from one country or area to another, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation.
A year ago Michigan was #2 in the nation for human trafficking based on phone calls received by the human trafficking hotline. Today, Michigan is still in the top 10 however falling lower to states like California and Nevada due to the volume of vacationers that visit those states.
Who We Are:
Founded in 2011, The Detroit Crime Commission is a tax exempt public charity to serve as a citizen ally with agencies and organizations to improve public safety in Southeastern Michigan.
The DCC’s highly trained analysts partner with law enforcement and private entities to investigate human trafficking rings by identifying the pathways traffickers use to connect with buyers.
In addition the DCC also sponsors training focusing on education to help prevent at-risk individuals, children and adults who could become involved in human trafficking.
And if you think it's not impacting you personally, think again!
In January 2018, as the automotive capital of the world prepares for its signature event, human trafficking rings will be making their way to Detroit.
Everyone being trafficked is someones loved one. It destroys lives, disrupts families, and steals innocence. So, what can YOU do about it?
DONATE to the DCC's Year-End Giving Campaign and bring hope and help to many.
How does my donation help?
Contributions will go directly toward the investigation and identification of human trafficking rings by identifying the pathways traffickers use to connect with buyers, as well as educating at risk children or individual who could become trapped in human trafficking.
When you donate to the DCC you are helping to dismantle human trafficking rings in Michigan or providing education to those who are at most risk of becoming trafficked.
Don’t my tax dollars pay for this?
No! Your taxes pay for basic services provided by local police, fire, and EMS. Also, most law enforcement agencies have limited resources and lack the expertise to identify human trafficking groups operating on the web.
Please donate to the Detroit Crime Commission today! You can help put an end to this horrible crisis and let everyone know that people are #notforsale!
